You should never start your day without eating a healthy power breakfast. If you go the entire morning without eating, then when it comes moment to eat lunch your more likely to over eat to compensate for the extra hunger. For the reason that your metabolism has not been given a kick-start by not eating breakfast, this means that you are also more likely to not burn those calories.
As a result, you want to make sure and eat breakfast every morning. The following is a list of breakfast ideas and tips to help ensure that you don not skip the most important meal of the day ever again:
- - Plan breakfast. The time to think about what is for breakfast is not the moment
you are about to make a mad dash out the door. Stock up on easy, flavorful, healthy foods that are quick to fix. Put breakfast foods within easy reach, so they are accessible for even the youngest-and shortest-members of the family.
- - Make breakfast a regular, non-negotiable part of everyone’s morning routine. Set aside a specific block of time and resist the temptation to keep hitting that snooze button!
- - Eat mindfully - sit to eat - even for five minutes - and try to focus only on enjoying your meal, savoring the flavors and aromas. “If you’re eating while rushing around — getting yourself or your kids ready for the day — you won’t really feel like you’ve had a meal,” says Lisa R. Young, Ph.D., R.D., adjunct assistant professor of nutrition, food studies, and public health at New York University and author of “The Portion Teller.” When you get to the office and see doughnuts, you will feel like you have already eaten.
- - Have an all-alkaline breakfast. During the night when you are sleeping, toxic bodies tend to become more acidic. Acidic blood sets the stage for illness and disease. When you wake up, having a more alkaline breakfast helps balance this acidic condition.
- - Hydrate - When sleeping, you become also become quite dehydrated. Drinking water and having a healthy breakfast meal with high water content is an excellent way to re-hydrate your body to begin your day.
- - Go 100% whole grains - 100% whole-grain, fiber-containing cereals served
with low- or fat-free milk are a healthier alternative to sugary cereals. Whole-wheat muffins with smashed banana are easy and tasty as well.
- - Do not skimp on the milk: A single serving of milk on breakfast cereal can provide up to half your daily calcium requirement.
- - In the summer, pick many fruit and freeze it. Blackberries are tasty and free, and a handful on your breakfast cereal in the winter will bring the taste of summer right back.
- - Eggs are a good breakfast food - boil, scramble, or poach eggs and serve on whole-wheat toast - they are packed with nutrition and, in appropriate portions, are great for kids.
- - No time for breakfast at home? - Toss a portable meal into your tote to eat at your desk before you begin answering e-mails or returning phone calls.
Tomorrow morning, remember that eating a healthy breakfast is the best way to start your day, and be good to yourself by eating a healthy and power breakfast. Notice how much better you feel through the morning and the rest of the day when you do not skip breakfast.

Hello, thanks for the post. I wonder what you mean with all-alkaline breakfast, can you suggest food that is alkaline?
Ani:
For a mostly ‘alkaline’ breakfast, you could try:
-One apple, peeled and grated,
-Approx one to two tablespoons of natural bran or ‘All Bran’,
- Approx. three tablespoons of natural, preferably organic, yoghurt,
- Approx one tablespoon of honey;
- Approx. two ounces of ground almonds. (these contain protein, but actually behave as a ‘neutral’ food, and are an excellent food).
“Acidic blood sets the stage for illness and disease.”
Will you please explain this and provide some references to evidence that proves any of the “alkaline vs acidic” type stuff? My thought is these acid vs alkaline diets are nothing more than a way to make money off people who are naive.
My understanding is that blood PH must always be between 7.35 - 7.45, or you’ll die. The body regulates your blood PH to keep within this range. So how can you have acidic blood upon waking up?
I’d do some extensive research on this topic before claiming that there’s any benefit in eating “alkaline-forming” foods.
