Isaac Newton : “If I have been able to see further, it was only because I stood on the shoulders of giants.”
Creative imagination is much more than just your imagination. To be
capable to actively envisage things, to see and hear things in one’s mind, is an essential ability. Creative imagination, then, has to include the ability not just to envisage things, but also to envisage original things. It is seeing things that others do not see and coming up with new ideas and things.
How can improve this creative imagination?
- Start by exercising your basic imagination. This can be as simple as thinking in pictures more, or listening to music in your mind. Start playing little movies in your mind, until you can watch them on command. It is a easy process, but for those of us that cannot easily do it naturally, it can take a lot of practice. Read more
Extreme Happiness Can Damage Your Health

Moderately happy people are wealthier — and maybe healthier — than extremely happy individuals, according to a psychologist who has researched happiness for more than two decades and his associates.
- While people who are happy are certainly more healthy and successful than those
who are angry and depressed, Dr. Ed Diener of the University of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign told Reuters Health, people who are moderately happy may achieve more than those who are extremely happy. They might also live longer.
- “Our findings suggest that extremely high levels of happiness might not be a desirable goal and that there is more to psychological well-being than high-levels of happiness,” Diener and his team report in the journal Perspectives on Psychological Science.
- The researchers looked at six different studies of happiness and life outcomes to investigate the optimum level of happiness.
- One study, the World Values Survey, which included nearly 120,000 people from 96 countries, found that those who were moderately happy, rating their life satisfaction at 8 or 9 out of 10, made more money than those who rated their satisfaction level at 10. However, 10s and 9s were more likely to have stable intimate relationships. Read more

Every child has the power to succeed in school and in life and every parent or family member can help. The question is: How can we help our children succeed? The answer comes from a combination of common sense and research about how children learn and about how to prepare them to learn.
Here are some things that you can do to help your child to make the most of that time:
- 1. Encourage Your Child to Read - Helping your child become a reader is the
single most important thing that you can do to help the child to succeed in school—and in life. The importance of reading simply can’t be overstated. Reading helps children in all school subjects
- 2. Talk with Your Child - Talking and listening play major roles in children’s school success. It’s through hearing parents and family members talk and through responding to that talk that young children begin to pick up the language skills they will need if they are to do well. For example, children who don’t hear a lot of talk and who aren’t encouraged to talk themselves often have problems learning to read, which can lead to other school problems. In addition, children who haven’t learned to listen carefully often have trouble following directions and paying attention in class. Read more

Do not drink alcohol and coffee. Avoid eating eggs and carbohydrates. Take vitamins. We have heard these nutritional advice for years - but are they accurate?
1. All Fats are bad for your health It is a long-held nutrition myth that all fats are
bad. The fact is we all need fat. Fats aid nutrient absorption and nerve transmission, and they help to maintain cell membrane integrity. However, when consumed in excessive amounts, fats contribute to weight gain, heart disease and certain types of cancers.2. Drink eight glasses of water per day. You should replace water lost through breathing, excrement and sweating each day - but that does not necessarily total eight glasses of water per day. It is hard to measure the exact amount of water you have consumed daily in food and drink, but if your urine is pale yellow, you are doing a good job. If it is a darker yellow, drink more H2O.
3. Vitamin supplements are necessary for everyone. If you eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, along with moderate amounts of a variety of low-fat dairy and protein and the right quantity of calories, you don’t need to supplement. Most Americans do not, so a multi-vitamin might be good. Special vitamin supplements are also recommended for people who are pregnant or have nutritional disorders.4. Coffee is the number 1 source of caffeine. Caffeine is widely found in tea and canned drinks. Some drinks, such as Jolt and Red Bull, contain as much caffeine as coffee. In general, there is no harm to your health if you drink coffee in small to moderate amounts. However, it is advised that people with high blood pressure and pregnant women limit their caffeine consumption. Read more

Rent , Vehicle and Food are usually the biggest expenses that we have to deal with every month. Moreover, while you can live without a car, food you definitely cannot live without. Let’s see how you can reduce your grocery bill by becoming a smart shopper.
- Buy vegetables, fruits, and meats “in-season” when they are cheapest and most
nutritious and preserve them yourself. Freezing and dehydrating are easy, canning takes a little more work. Even in the grocery store, there is always something locally grown in the produce section as seasons come and go. - Buy generic “store” brands which are always cheaper and taste the same. The colourful packaging doesn’t mean higher quality of the product, don’t fall for the famous brands, they are not always the best.
- Shop with a Price Book and stock up on sales - A price book is a portable list of items you normally purchase, and the average price you pay for them at your store/stores To give you an example - at one of our stores last week we found cans of vegetables for .28 cents, which is a major bargain in our area. We bought as many of them as we could store and use in our home. Read more
