10 Home Remedies for Acne
Acne is a very common skin problem, with consequences that go beyond simply physical. Even when it is simply pimples, instead of the more severe forms like cystic acne, breakouts can affect a person’s confidence, sense of well-being, and ability to go out and meet people.
Whilst teen acne is very common, people of all ages can be affected. In fact, it’s estimated
that 85% of people between the ages of 12 and 24 have suffered some type of acne.
Several kinds of acne home treatments work differently with various people. What works well for one person may not work at all for another.
1. Toothpaste: Dab toothpaste onto your pimple before you go to bed at night to dry it out.
2. Make an oatmeal mask: Oatmeal reduces inflammation, so wash your face with an oatmeal paste or leave it on for about fifteen minutes and then rinse off.
3. Fresh mint juice: Applying fresh mint juice to your pimples supposedly reduces acne.
4. Pomegranate: Apply a paste of roasted and powdered pomegranate skin, mixed with fresh lime juice, to your pimples and then rinse off after several minutes.
5. Garlic cloves: Gently massage your acne with garlic cloves to reduce inflammation.
6. Honey and cinnamon powder paste: Mix these two ingredients together, apply to your face at bedtime, rinse off the next morning.
7. Cucumber juice: Squeeze the juice out of a cucumber onto a cotton pad and apply it to your pimples to promote faster healing and to reduce inflammation.
8. Ice: Another home remedy recommends icing down your acne before bed, reducing inflammation.
9. Orange peel: This ingredient, mixed with water, can be used as a paste on your pimples as a natural way to zap acne.
10. Lavender oil: This soothing natural oil can be used as a preventative acne solution and will clear away redness.
